BHOJPUR: A rape convict, who had been on the run after being handed imprisonment sentence by Bhojpur District Court 16 years ago, has been arrested.
District Police Office (DPO), Bhojpur arrested Gaja Kumar Rai (53) of Tyamkemaiyum Rural Municipality-1, who was handed a prison sentence of three years and three months after being convicted of rape on March 23, 2003.
A team from the Bhojpur DPO arrested Rai from a shed in a jungle on Saturday.
Rai has been sent to prison to serve his sentence at the order of the court, said police.
