Employee tampers with citizenship details

It has been revealed that an employee at District Coordination Committee, Jajarkot, reportedly tampered with details on his citizenship certificate to defer his retirement.

Office Assistant Ram Bahadur Dangi of Bheri Municipality apparently tampered with the date of birth mentioned in his citizenship certificate and enjoyed eight more years in service, officials said. Dangi’s citizenship has his birth date as January 28, 1963, whereas official records at District Administration Office show his date of birth as January 28, 1953. Moreover, his citizenship lacks signature of the issuing officer.

In line with the discrepancies uncovered during record matching, authorities have initiated an investigation into the case, according to Chief District Officer Lalit Kumar Basnet.

However, Dangi has denied the allegations. Authorities have sent evidences to science laboratory for test. “We will initiate appropriate legal proceedings based on the report from the laboratory,” said CDO Basnet.
