Minister of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa today said the government was preparing to dismantle the syndicate system in other areas as it had done in the transport sector.
Addressing the first central assembly of Nepal Public Transport Pvt Ltd Coordination Committee in Kathmandu today, the home minister said that syndicate system benefited only a handful of people and it must be dismantled if the country was to be made prosperous.
“An end to syndicate in public transport sector was urgent for prosperity of entrepreneurs and convenience of the public,” he said and added that some legal hurdles still persisted for the effective management in the public transport sector.
