One dead as muzzleloader gun bursts in Dhankuta

BHOJPUR: A man died after a muzzleloader gun burst in Pakhribas Municipality-8, of Dhankuta district, on Monday evening.

Area Police Office (APO), Pakhrebas identified the deceased as Bhim Kumar Rai (35), son of local resident Jit Bahadur Rai.

According to the APO, Rai died after the gun he was carrying exploded in Chuhadekhola on Monday.

A joint team of security personnel deployed from the District Police Office, Dhankuta and the APO reached the incident site immediately and went through the legal formalities necessary in order to send the body of the deceased to the District Hospital, Dhankuta.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident is underway, informed police.
