Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Upendra Yadav today laid the foundation stone for construction of the new building of Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj, Saptari.

Laying the foundation stone, DPM Yadav said people would get quality health service after hospitals managed their physical infrastructure. He said, “Hospitals could efficiently deliver health services if their buildings were properly managed.” DPM Yadav also inaugurated a newly set up intensive care unit in the hospital.

Medical Superintendent Dr Chuman Lal Das at the hospital said the hospital’s old infrastructure would be replaced with the Ministry of Urban Development’s financial assistance of Rs 310 million. He added that a three-storey new building would be constructed with the aid.

The new building will have 66 rooms for different wards, departments, and doctors’ quarters. Saptari Chief of Urban and Building Construction Project Ramesh Thing said the new building would be handed over to the hospital after its construction was completed.
