KATHMANDU: The government on Monday decided to observe the second day of the Nepali month of Baisakh (April 15) as ‘School Enrolment Day’.
The Cabinet also decided to run a campaign for the next two weeks to raise awareness of school enrolment.
All three tiers of government — federal, provincial and local — will run the campaign in coordination with the Ministry of Education, according to Kundan Aryal, press advisor to the prime minister. The Cabinet also decided to set up ‘Sagarmatha Dialogue’ which will be hosted by the government and have participants from across the globe.
Aryal said the international forum would discuss all contemporary issues. This is not an annual event and will be held whenever needed.
A theme will be set for each of the events. The theme for the first event will be ‘Climate Change’, said Aryal.
