Kathmandu, September 22
Eighteen-year-old acid attack victim, Samjhana Das of Rautahat, who is undergoing treatment at Kathmandu-based Kritipur Hospital, is in ‘critical’ condition, according to doctors.
The health condition of Samjhana, who successfully underwent skin graft operation on her face and back yesterday, started deteriorating this morning.
Dr Ketki Kaushal, burn and plastic surgeon, said Samjhana talked to her parents and visitors yesterday, but she stopped speaking from 7:30 am today.
Samjhana’s father Jadolal Das, said, “She suddenly stopped talking in the morning. She has since been kept on ventilator as she faced difficulty breathing.”
“Her condition is critical and it cannot be said whether it would improve,” said Dr Ketki, adding, “She has only five per cent chance of survival.”
