Work on to resume transport movement

Lamjung, September 29

Nepali Army personnel are working to resume transport movement along the Besisahar-Chame Road that has been obstructed for a fortnight now following rain-triggered floods and landslides.

Personnel from Udipur-based Shreejung Battalion, Lamjung, are involved in clearing the landslide debris on the road, while policemen, staffers at the Road Division Office of Damauli and nearby hydropower projects have also extended a helping hand. According chief engineer Bhanu Joshi at Road Division Office, Damauli, the road has been obstructed due to landslide debris at seven different points.

“So far, the debris at Kharkhare, Khudi and Bhulbhule has been cleared. Work to clear the road on the Ghoptebhir Arkhale side is on.
