LALITPUR: Minu Gurung and Bimala Shrestha advanced to the women’s 51kg section final of the selection tournament organised by Nepal Boxing Association to pick the players for the AIBA World Women’s Championship, here on Monday.

Nepal APF Club boxer Gurung defeated Sanju Maya Thing of Makawanpur 5-0 in an one-sided affair, while Tribhuvan Army Club’s Shrestha registered a 5-0 victory over Nanja Budha Magar of APF in the semi-final bouts.

In 60kg weight category, TAC’s Poonam Rawal and APF’s Sangita Sunar were directly drawn in final.

The finals are slated for Tuesday and the winners of both the weight categories will qualify for the AIBA World Women’s Championship to be held in New Delhi, India from November 15-24.
