LALITPUR: Boxers Minu Gurung and Sanju Maya Thing advanced to the 51kg section semi-finals of the selection tournament organised by Nepal Boxing Association to pick the players for the AIBA World Women’s Championship, here on Sunday.

The Tribhuvan Army Club boxer Gurung defeated Nepal APF Club’s Mala Rai 4-1, while Makawanpur’s Thing outplayed Manila Rai of Lalitpur 5-0.

In 60kg weight category, TAC’s Poonam Rawal and APF’s Sangita Sunar were directly drawn in the final.

The finals are slated for Tuesday.
