Vehicles have started plying the 63-km Malekhu-Dhading-Bhandara section (Chepang road) along the Kerung-Rashuwagadi-Thori road. The Kerung-Rasuwagadi-Thori road is the shortest route linking Nepal with India and China.
With the road coming into operation, remote settlements of Dhading have been connected to Chitwan’s district headquarters Bharatpur. Daily life of the locals living in Rapti Municipality and Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality has changed after vehicles started operating on the road.
Locals said the buses were also being operated along the 22 kilometres stretch from Bhandara to Bhanjyang of Rapti Municipality. A local, Bhim Bahadur Chepang, said locals living in Bhanjyang had to take a few hours’ walk to catch a bus.
The locals of Kandranggadi, Chhap, Chhyapkal among other places of Chitwan can now easily supply their produce to Brushbang, Bangburti and Chete, among other places of Dhading. A local said that they could easily reach the hospital if somebody fell sick in the locality.
