Monitoring carried out by a team from Bhaktapur Municipality on Friday found meat shops — Byasi and Kasan — flouting rules, and not maintaining proper hygiene.
The team led by Coordinator Raj Krishna Gora also seized the weighing machine of Bhaktapur Fresh House and Egg Centre. The proprietor was asked to register his shop within the next three days.

They were asked to use white aprons, proper cover for the meat, put up the price list, clean up the floor on daily basis, and clean the meat cutting tools, said ward inspector Ram Krishna Prajapati.
Likewise, of the 25 shops monitored from Barahisthan to Ghalate in Bhaktapur Municipality, 23 were found being operated without registration.
