KATHMANDU: Priyansu Singh Chhetry of Nepal APF Club, Bijaya Baniya of Myagdi, Bhoj Bahadur Gurung of Itahari, Gokul Jora of Kanchanpur, Anish Katuwal and Ashish Tamang of Zest Badminton Academy, Gokul Tamang of Swoyambhu, and Amrit Chaudhary of Kailali won their qualifying matches and advanced to the main event of the 15th Nationwide Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Tournament here on Sunday.
A total of 287 players are taking part in the annual tournament organised by Nepal APF Sports Department in memory of IGP Krishna Mohan Shrestha.
The tournament features singles, doubles, mixed doubles, U-17 and veteran events.
AIG Ram Sharan Paudel inaugurated the badminton tournament along with 11th Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Tournament and APF IG sixth National Women’s Open Volleyball Tournament by handing over kits to the umpires of the respective events.
