GAIGHAT: A person died on the spot and ten sustained injuries after the Bolero jeep they were travelling on fell below the road in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-1 of Udayapur district on Monday night.
Police have identified the deceased as Keshar Maya Priyar (45) of Murme in Udayapurgadhi-1 in the district.
According to police, the jeep (Sa 1 Ja 506) was heading to Shikarpur (Murme) from Katari Bazaar when it lost control — as it failed to pick up speed on the uphill road due to overload — and fell some 300 metres below at Bishnu Chaur.
Among the injured, three are in critical condition and have been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Chandra Dev Rai at Udayapur District Police Office.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
