KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) recently conducted a tourism sales mission in two major cities of Russia — Moscow and St Petersburg from April 16 to 18.
NTB, in association with Society of Travel & Tour Operators’ Association, (SOTTO) Nepal, and Embassy of Nepal in Moscow and Consulate of Nepal in St Petersburg made a destination presentation and conducted a business-to-business interaction with the travel and tourism fraternity and media from Moscow in a programme at Nepal Embassy, as per a media release.
Russian outbound tourism is growing by 25 per cent per annum in the world. So, as per NTB, Russian market can add to Nepal’s quest for high-end tourists as Russians are constantly looking for new destinations and are eager to combine adventure with luxury, which Nepal is on track to establish as one of its major tourism highlights. In 2018, a total of 10,410 visitors from Russia had travelled to Nepal.
