Rapti Seven Circuit being developed to promote tourism

Chitwan, May 7

Work on tourism promotion has begun by linking the seven tourism sites of Rapti Municipality. Tourism is being promoted through the Rapti Seven Circuit project in the municipality area.

Deputy Mayor of the municipality Iman Singh Lama said that Rapti Unity Community Forest located at Ward No 5 of the municipality is being developed as an open zoo. A view tower and Bageshwori temple located towards the east from the community forest are to be spruced up.

Similarly, a Buddhist monastery is to be constructed at Anemang. One can easily view Chitwan district as well as neighbouring districts from the northern part of Anemang. Lama further said preparation was under way to construct 500 metres of steps to reach the temple as well as physical infrastructure for spending the night there. Tourism infrastructure will be further developed by making Noku cave accessible, he added.

Activities for eco-tourism at Bhawanipur of Rapti municipality will also be started.

An ethnic museum and park will also be constructed. It is estimated that a budget of around Rs 2 billion will be needed to complete all these works. The seven circuit could also be linked with Sauraha, Lumbini, Kathmandu and Pokhara.
